Citroen's transition to an electric brand continues in the new year, with the C5 Aircross receiving a new and even more efficient hybrid entry-level engine, the 180 Stop&Start e-EAT8. It produces 133 kW (180 hp) and expands the electrified engine lineup for the Stop&Start 225 e-EAT plug-in hybrid. Prices for the new Citroen C5 Aircross begin at EUR 42,000 plus VAT (RRP for the Citroen C5 Aircross Plug-in Hybrid 180 Feel Pack).
The Citroen C5 Aircross Hybrid 180 combines a 110 KW/150 HP petrol engine with an electric motor rated at 81 kW/110 HP. With an energy consumption of 16.1-15.9 kWh/100 km, this new model offers significant efficiency benefits and thereby ensures a range of up to 57 km with a battery capacity of 12.4 kWh. With a starting price of 42,000 euros including VAT (RRP for the Citroen C5 Aircross Plug-in Hybrid 180 Feel Pack), the new variation is 1,500 euros cheaper than the 225 hp variant (43,500 euros RRP in Germany for the Citroen C5 Aircross Plug-In Hybrid Stop&Start 225 Feel Pack). As a benefit in kind, company car drivers only have to pay tax on 0.5 percent of the gross list price for this hybrid version.
The Citroen C5 Aircross Hybrid may be charged conveniently at home, work, or a public charging station. The battery charge and remaining range may be checked by smartphone using the My Citroen app, and daily charging operations and interior pre-conditioning can be planned.
"In addition to the well-known strengths of the Citroen C5 Aircross - well-thought-out equipment and a user-friendly overall concept in conjunction with the highest level of comfort, maximum modularity, and latest generation technologies - there is now another advantage: customers who choose the new plug-in variant with 180 HP decide to protect not only the environment but also your wallet because you benefit from efficiency and price advantages," says Roman Franke.
