Lamborghini is no stranger to making fast and furious cars, but the SC63 is something else. This is the first hybrid racing car prototype from the Italian brand, and it's ready to take on the world'sworld's best endurance competitions. The Lamborghini SC63 will debut in 2024 at the FIA World Endurance Championship (Hypercar class) and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (GTP class), where it will face rivals like Toyota, Peugeot, Audi, Porsche, and Acura.

The Lamborghini SC63 is not just a Lamborghini with a hybrid system slapped on. It's a completely new car designed from scratch by Lamborghini Squadra Corse, the company's motorsport division, in collaboration with Lamborghini Centro Stile, the design studio. The Lamborghini SC63 features an all-new 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that has been developed specifically for the racing program. The engine has a ''cold V'' configuration, meaning that the turbos are mounted outside the engine's vee angle, making them easier to cool and service. The engine also lowers the mass and optimizes the car'scar's center of gravity.

Lamborghini SC63: The Ultimate Hybrid Hypercar

The engine is paired with a standard hybrid system consisting of a battery and a motor generator unit (MGU), common to all LMDh-category cars. The hybrid system adds an extra boost of power and torque to the rear wheels while also recovering energy during braking. The powertrain's total output is limited by regulation to 500 kW (680 hp), which is managed by a Bosch electronic control unit.

The Lamborghini SC63 also boasts a stunning carbon fiber body that has been aerodynamically tested in the wind tunnel to ensure the best performance. The distinctive features of the SC63 bear the signature of Lamborghini Centro Stile, with all the typical details of the Sant'Agata Bolognese cars. The race car has a sleek and aggressive profile, with sharp lines and curves that create a dynamic and muscular impression. The characteristic Y-shaped LED headlights follow the strong lines of the car and accentuate its shape, as well as guaranteeing the ideal lighting in the nighttime hours of the race through laser modules. The race car also has a unique downward-sloping character line that begins at the corner of the hood and a surprisingly effective angled, high-mounted rear brake light on the top edge of the rear glass.

Lamborghini SC63: The Ultimate Hybrid Hypercar

The livery of the SC63 is inspired by the Italian flag, with alternating colors of green, white, red, and black. The sports car also features the logos of Lamborghini Squadra Corse and its partners, such as Iron Lynx, Bosch, Michelin, and Motul. Iron Lynx is an Italian team that will run the car in international competition, with world-class drivers from Formula 1 and endurance racing.

The Lamborghini SC63 represents a milestone for Lamborghini Squadra Corse and for the whole. It's the first step into the highest level of covered-wheel motorsport, with the chance to race in prestigious events such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 24 Hours of Daytona. It's also part of Lamborghini's roadmap for electrification, which aims to hybridize its entire model range by 2024. The SC63 is a racing car showcasing Lamborghini's vision for the future of high-performance mobility.

Lamborghini SC63: The Ultimate Hybrid Hypercar

The Lamborghini SC63 is not a car for everyone. It's a sports car for those who love speed, adrenaline, and innovation. It's a car that challenges the limits of technology and engineering. It's a car that embodies Lamborghini's DNA: uncompromising, visionary, and passionate. The Lamborghini SC63 is not just a hybrid hypercar. It's a Lamborghini.
