Renault's all-new electrified SUV, the Austral, is now available for pre-order. It is high-tech, efficient, and connected. The all-new Renault Austral features a state-of-the-art cockpit and an uncompromisingly high-quality, functional, and spacious interior designed with the whole family in mind. The OpenR screen combines the dashboard instrument display with the navigation and multimedia screen. It is one of the largest in the automobile market since it uses the best of Google's services and apps.
The new Renault Austral, built on the CMF-CD platform, is versatile and adaptable thanks to its split-folding rear seat, which can be individually adjusted along 16 cm rails to enhance the luggage compartment capacity or the leg room for passengers in the back.
The third generation of Renault's four-wheel steering technology, 4CONTROL Advanced, makes its debut in the brand new Renault Austral SUV. The four-wheel-drive chassis is the only one of its kind in the C-SUV class, providing both the maneuverability of a city vehicle and the steadiness of a racecar.
The second-generation E-TECH Hybrid engine makes its debut in the brand-new Renault Austral. The E-TECH Full Hybrid's 1.2 L 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine is mated to an electric motor on a 400V network, producing either 160 or 200 horsepower. The Renault Austral's energy efficiency is around 42 percent, among the best on the market.
The latest 1.2 L 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine is combined with a 48V lithium-ion battery and starter motor to create the 130 hp Mild Hybrid Advanced engine. The battery and starter motor help the petrol engine when it needs energy the most (during acceleration and starting), injecting more power while reducing fuel consumption to "Best in class" levels (5.2 L/100 km and 118 g CO2/km, respectively).
The base Mild Hybrid engine is based on the 1.3 L 4-cylinder turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine seen in several Renault models and produces either 140 hp or 160 hp. The engine was co-created by Daimler and uses a 12V lithium-ion battery and starting motor to achieve a "Best in class" mixed cycle fuel economy of 6 L/100 km with emissions of 137 g CO2/km.
