BMW M GmbH created several of BMW's most recognizable vehicles. In the eyes of many BMW enthusiasts, the M series represents the pinnacle of fun behind the wheel. As a result, the new BMW XM is steeped in tradition and dedication while also promising to set the bar high in its respective categories. In 50 years, not even the iconic BMW M1 has been an iconic BMW M model on its own, but the BMW XM will change all of that. There is a world of difference between the two in terms of size, style, and powertrain.

BMW isn't afraid to stir some controversy. BMW has a long history of venturing in its direction with select models. The brand-new BMW XM is a perfect illustration of this idea. Although not everyone will find it a suitable vehicle, that is beside the point because many clients seek flamboyant luxury over the traditional.

The car's exterior design is striking and dynamic, just like the vehicle itself. The newly designed M Hybrid powertrain combines a 4.4-liter, high-revving V8 petrol engine with a powerful electric motor to produce a maximum of 653 hp and 800 Nm of torque. For the first time on a BMW M model, 0-100 km/h is achieved in 4.3 seconds.

BMW's first plug-in hybrid, the brand-new BMW XM, sends a clear message about the future of technology and the company's stance regarding electrification by working together. It's a stepping stone to the forthcoming first completely electric BMW M vehicle. The BMW XM has a lithium-ion high-voltage battery with a net capacity of 25.7 kWh. This allows for an electric range of 88 km.

BMW M xDrive all-wheel drive transfers the thrust created by the powerful engine and transmission combination to the pavement. The 4WD Sand mode was designed specifically for driving on sandy beaches and dunes, while the 4WD Sports mode sends more power to the rear wheels. The rear axle's M Sports differential is also completely adjustable.

The new BMW XM's sophisticated suspension systems allow for a wide variety of driving experiences, from classic M thrills to class-leading comfort.

The BMW XM plug-in hybrid dimensions are 5,110 mm in length, 2,005 mm in width, 1,755 mm in height, and 3,105 mm in wheelbase. It can be shipped with extra-large 23-inch wheels if you'd like. The car does not attempt to disguise its massive size or distinctive appearance and interior design.

The front lights are two individual pieces. Large air intakes take up much of the front fascia, while the kidney grille is framed in gold and features continuous contour lighting. The transparent under-window frame stands out when viewed from the side. The carved BMW emblems in the glass and the sculpted taillights are the most striking features from behind.

The inside has been updated to match the expressive style. Both the interior and the front seats are fashioned for dynamic driving. A unique and luxurious M Lounge awaits you in the back, made possible by ample storage space and premium materials. A 20-speaker Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround sound system is available for audiophiles' listening pleasure.

Among its many useful features is a trunk space that doubles from 1,820 to 5,271 liters when the rear seats are folded down. The BMW XM can tow a trailer with a maximum weight of 2,700 kg.

The BMW XM will enter production in December of this year at the BMW Group Plant Spartanburg in the United States, with an international release scheduled for spring 2023. The anticipated base price is around $289,000.
