Toyota is bringing the new TNGA philosophy to the compact segment for the first time. In the new Toyota Yaris, this is done through the use of the new GA-B platform, and the introduction of the fourth-generation hybrid system with a TNGA 3-cylinder engine.

Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) is used for the first time in a compact car.

The GA-B platform allows the driver to sit lower and further back (+ 60 mm compared to the current model) towards the center of the car. It helps to lower the center of gravity. It also provides a more engaging position, with better ergonomics and more adjustment options. The steering wheel is closer to the driver and can be adjusted more in the height direction compared to today's model.

The chassis has better weight balance, both longitudinally and transversely; it gives less tilt and improves stability during braking and braking distance. The new Toyota Yaris is not only an easy to drive city car, but is also stable at higher speeds on the highway and is fun to drive on winding country roads.

The hybrid system features the new 1.5 Dynamic Force three-cylinder petrol engine with variable valves. The engine actually has the world's fastest combustion speed, with high torque at low engine speeds and high fuel efficiency. It is also equipped with a balance module that helps reduce engine noise and vibration. It has a thermal efficiency of 40%, higher than typical diesel engines, which helps to ensure more than 19% improvement in Yaris' fuel economy and CO2 emissions.

The new Toyota Yaris is equipped with the latest in active and passive safety systems to create the world's safest compact car. Advanced driver assistance systems include adaptive cruise control and the lane assist as standard features.

The new Toyota Yaris get a competitive price, thanks to low taxes due to low emissions of CO2. The new model receives no price increase from the outgoing model other than the pricing of safety equipment and other new equipment.
