The brand new Audi A6 starts orders in the UK in January 2011, valued from £30,145 (including 20% VAT) - first customer deliveries in march 2011.
Audi A6 2.0 TDI model weighs just 1,575kg, 15% less than an all-steel equivalent – 4.92 metres in length, 1.87 metres wide, 1.46 metres high. A6 2.0 TDI (177PS) manual is the most effective derivative – 0-62mph in 8.7 seconds, top speed 142mph .
The Audi A6 has been redesigned from the ground up with the perk of the brand’s most forward-looking lightweight construction methods, engine performance standards, chassis improvements and in-car technological improvements.
A6 has a completely reworked light, rigid and safe body.
The range of four powerful and very practical engines available at launch in the UK: 2.0-litre TDI 177PS, 3.0-litre TDI 204PS, 3.0-litre TDI 245PS and 3.0-litre TFSI 300PS units with advanced direct injection technology for the slimmest feasible fuel burn rate, and work in combination with the start-stop system, the energy recovery system. As a consequence, fuel economy has increased by up to 19 per cent compared to the prior model.
The new Audi A6 will also be equipped with a manual six-speed transmission or continuously variable Multitronic CVT for front-wheel-drive models, and the new seven-speed twin-clutch transmission.
The new Audi A6 measures 4.92 metres long, 1.87 metres wide and 1.46 metres high, it has been designed to penetrate cleanly through the wind.
Two specification levels – SE and S line – will be offered in the UK, each including alloy wheels, leather upholstery, cruise and front and rear parking controls, SD-based satellite navigation, Bluetooth phone preparation, split/folding rear seats and light and rain sensors. S line models will add larger 18-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, sports suspension, Valcona leather upholstery, seats with heating, cooling and massaging functions, acoustic glazinga 15-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, TV reception.
